Quick Fix

Spray gun splitting

Fluid supply is low, or it's empty.

Refill the container with supplies.

Paint pressure too low or none (motor and displacement pump working)

1 – Low pressure setting.

2 – Clogged gun filter tip.

3 – Tip is worn out.

4 - Fluid displacement pump filter clogged (if used).

5 – Fluid hose significant pressure drop.

1 – Needs pressure surge.

2 – Tip/filter needs cleaning.

3 – Change tip.

4 – Filter cleaning.

5 – Requires larger diameter hose.

Wet cap paint leaks

1 - Loose wet cap.

2 – Damaged or worn-out throat packings.

3 – Worn out piston rod.

1 - Tighten enough for leakage stoppage.

2 – Packings replacement.

3 – change piston rod.

Paint pump not working (motor operates)

1 – Low pressure settings.

2 - Dry paint is blocking the displacement.

1 – Needs pressure increase.

2 – Pump servicing.

Displacement pump operates, but output is low (down stroke/both strokes).

The lower check valve is not properly seated.

Check the lower check valve ball.

Upstroke output is low, but displacement pump operates.

1 - Incorrect seating of the upper check valve ball.

2 - Wear or damage to lower packings.

1 - Upper check ball valve service.

2 – Packings need changing.

Low pressure prevents displacement pump operation.

1 – Large tip.

2 - Power drop from long extension cords.

1 – Small tip needed.

2 - Shorten the cord.

Motor stoppage

nil

Overload switch reset.

Prime does not occur with the displacement pump.

1 - There is an obstruction or stuck ball.

2 - A leak in the bypass hose (bubbles are escaping.)

1 - Check ball valves upper and lower.

2 - If equipped, inspect suction hose for holes. Check suction nut and O-ring on lower ball cage.

No unit operation

There is an issue starting the machine.

  1. – Control settings
  2. – Power source

1 - Turn the ON-OFF toggle switch to "ON" and press the Pressure Control Knob to maximum pressure. Make sure the unit is plugged in.

  1. - Remove the bottom electrical cover. Make sure the green power light is on. Proceed to Step 3 if the light is "OFF". 7. Go to step 7 if "ON".
