Ornate Workwear is a boutique workwear brand specialising in appealing and functional workwear for women and trendy and practical workwear for men.
Ornate Workwear was established by Harriett Carolan after extensive discussions with painting colleagues about the lack of functional but attractive workwear available for female tradies. Diving into the world of Aussie workwear, Harriett discovered hundreds of cheap, synthetic options for men and women, but little in the way of trendy designs, hard-wearing materials, and natural fabrics.
Harriett’s journey as a tradie started when she agreed to help a mate paint a house. Working as a subcontractor, she learned so much in such a short space of time and decided painting was something she wanted to do professionally. She went to TAFE, gained her qualifications and has been working as a professional tradie ever since!
At the same time, she joined Instagram and started connecting with other tradies, painters and decorators from around the world, local painting businesses, colour consultants and interior designers. She has since helped tradies and others engage with social media audiences, creating reels and how-to videos for a wide range of products and DIY painting projects.
She also met PaintAccess CEO Dan Dorofeev and explained her idea for a boutique workwear brand for younger tradies. Ornate Workwear was born, leveraging PaintAccess’ existing distribution network and retail experience to provide high-quality products and exceptional service from day 1.
