Left heavy residue

Tape was easy to apply. I spray painted the job and removed the tape only a few hours after applying. It was difficult to remove, often tore leaving small peces to remove. Worst of all it left a heavy residue of adhesive all over my job. I'm trying all sorts of cleaners to remove but it's very hard to get it off. I'm absolutely disgused with this tape!
