Interior surfaces an undercoat directly over bare timber, as a sealer for wallboards (e.g. paper faced plasterboard), or as a primer for galvanised steel. Taubmans 3 in 1 is particularly recommended for repaint over aged enamel to provide a sound bond for other water based topcoats.

Suitable for exterior applications when used as a primer for timber or on previously painted surfaces. Taubmans 3 in 1 can also be used in "high humidity" areas - bathrooms, laundries, kitchens, etc. under both water based finishes and oil based enamels.

FEATURES

Multi purpose / multi surface, Interior / Exterior. Undercoat for timber and aged enamel, sealer for wallboards and masonry, primer for gal and exterior timber.

New/Bare Work
Surfaces must be clean and dry before painting. Dust down bare wallboards and interior timber. New concrete and cement render must be allowed to cure for 28 days before painting. Weathered timber must be sanded back to a sound surface.

Repaint
Remove all loose and flaking paint. Sand to feather edges before painting. Remove surface chalk and powder, dirt, oil and grease. Spot bare areas with Taubmans 3 in 1 before applying a full coat. Do not use 3in1 on set plaster, fibrous plaster or plasterglass. See Prep Right plaster Sealer.

APPLICATION

Apply one coat by brush, roller or spray. A 10mm regular nap cover or similar will give best results.

Cleanup - Water

Coverage - Up to 16m²/litre. Coverage will be lower on rough or absorbent surfaces, typically 10m²/litre on new paperfaced plasterboards.

Recoat - Recoat after 2 hours at 25°C and 50% RH.

Stirring - Stir paint with a 25mm wide flat stirrer in a circular lifting motion for at least 5 minutes before use.

Temperature - Do not use at temperatures below 10°C or above 35°C

How much paint do I need? Our Paint Calculator is a useful feature that calculates the amount of paint we require for a painting project. We will also soon be adding a feature that will allow you to calculate labour cost for the painting project.  Usually for a 3 bedroom unit/house it takes 20L of ceiling paint. In most cases it's flat (for bathroom ceilings it's best to use mould proof or simple low sheen paint, 30 liters for walls usually its low sheen, and 4-6 Litres for woodwork.) Coverage in most cases is around 1L per 7 -10 Square meters, again it's for previously painted surfaces only. For new plasterboard its around 7 squares per 1 L per one coat, and the new render is 5 square meters per liter again for one coat.
