Mixing
The strength and hardness of the plaster is directly related to the amount of water used. For maximum strength use 70ml of water to 100gm of plaster. More water will reduce the density and hardness. Do not exceed 100ml water per 100gm of plaster.
Measure plaster and water, then put water water into the mixing container(should not exceed half full).
Slowly add the plaster to the water stirring carefully to avoid air bubbles. Mix to an even consistency, mixing no longer than a minute as the plaster will start to set quite quickly.
Immediately pour mixed plaster into the mould, tapping and vibrating the mould to dislodge any air bubbles.
Once cool and hard, remove mould being careful not to damage the delicate plaster.
Plaster will be at full hardness in 24 hours and can then be sanded, carved and painted.
Note:
It is normal for casts and moulds to become warm when setting.
