Water pressure cleaner

When using a water pressure cleaner, you have the choice of petrol or electric. Electric models are quiter and more compact than petrol versions while petrol models tend to be more powerful. The type you choose will depend on the jobs you need to do and the frequency of use. Petrol models are the best option if you need the machine for frequent or extended use. If you only need the machine for smaller areas that you only need to clean occasionally, a brush motor should be suitable.

Pressure washers are one of the most effective ways of removing dust and debris before you paint. In fact, a pressure provides 50 times more power and uses 80 percent less water than a garden hose. It works by connecting to the garden tap and reduces water flow by whilst amplifying the pressure which is released in a hard jet when you pull the trigger. Overall, a water pressure cleaner is the most efficient and environmentally friendly solution. When you’re using a water pressure cleaner, there are a few important safety considerations to keep in mind. When using a water pressure cleaner, you should always wear safety goggles and hearing protection for more powerful models. You should also be particularly careful when using a pencil nozzle which releases the water in a concentrated jet.

Paint Sprayer benefits

Fast and efficient

Paint sprayers are a very efficient way to paint large sections of walls, ceilings or columns. This is because you can use one device for the job. Paint sprayers also speed up paints and saves labour costs‪. Airless paint sprayers reduce the amount of overspray and bounce back you get with a conventional sprayer.

They do this because they use hydraulic pressure instead of pressurized air to apply paint. The tips on most of these sprayers are also customizable, allowing you to choose the perfect one for a particular project.  Airless paint sprayers can be more cost-effective in the long run. Unlike solvent-based sprayers, airless paint sprayers utilize fluid heaters to lower the paint’s viscosity, creating a smooth and even finish.

Better finish quality

The paint sprayer will spread the paint over the surface evenly, leaving the surface smooth and free of drips or puddles. It will be especially useful on those areas that are difficult to reach using a brush or roller. Paint sprayers allow you to smooth out the surface that you're painting so that paint will stick more easily. You can use paint sprayers for work that would be more difficult with brushes or rollers. Paint rollers are not as effective as paint sprayers when it comes to painting furniture, stairs, and window frames because they leave behind brush marks. Instead, a paint sprayer does a better job because it leaves behind a fine mist of paint.

Versatile use

Paint sprayers are useful for many different jobs. There are a variety of models available, including some that are very compact and easy to transport and some larger heavy duty models ideal for complex jobs. Since you can easily change the tip, paint sprayers are suitable for spraying a wide range of different materials.

What is a colourbond fence?

Colourbond fencing is a type of fence made out of Colourbond steel. It comes as a pre-painted producted and is made up of colourbond panels, fixing posts, caps, and other finishing items. Colourbond steel is durable and resists against rot, termites, and more.

Whatever your style preference is, COLORBOND® steel has you covered. You can choose from 14 different colors to coordinate it with the colors of your home. Each COLORBOND® steel color was inspired by Australia’s magnificent backyard.

Whether you prefer subdued or vibrant colours, light or dark hues, cool or warm tones, Colobond steel fencing offers the options that will blend your garden with its surroundings.

COLORBOND® steel fencing comes with a wide range of options and styles, which makes it aesthetically pleasing on both sides of the fence.
When installed correctly, the fence won't have any horizontal gaps, visible planks or loose palings. You can also choose if you want the fence or gate to be made with lattice, slats and post caps. Because it is so low maintenance, you won't need to spend your time painting it, oiling it or replacing your paling fences.

Painting a colourbond fence in simple and easy steps

Cleaning the fence before you paint

The first important step involves cleaning cobwebs and other debris from your fence. Use a broom to reach the top areas of the fence and a large paint brush to clean around the ridges in the fence. If there are any weeds growing along the fence, make sure to remove them before you start painting. Use a leafblower to remove any removing debris from the fence.

Sanding the fence

After you’ve finished cleaning, it’s time to sand the fence. Use a fine pad to sand away the sheen from the fence. This will allow for strong adhesion of the paint to the fence. Once sanding is done, use a high pressure gurney to do a final clean of the fence with water. Graco’s high pressure gurney washer allows for effective cleaning and is available at Bunnings.

Unboxing the ProX17

Now for the exciting part - it’s time to unbox the ProX17 which arrived all the way from the USA. It comes with a 15m hose, industry gun, and 515 tip which is ideal for all general purposes such as ceilings, walls, and of course, fences. It also includes Pump Armor, a special liquid used for storing your gun when you’re not using it and a connector which connects to the garden hose for cleaning. The sprayer itself is conveniently compact and comes on a stand. Its main feature is that it’s very easy to replace the pump. If your pump breaks, all you have to do is unscrew the old one and replace it with a new one. Another great feature of this sprayer is that it’s very easy to change if something goes wrong while it is out of warranty. All you have to do is pull the cover up and you can take the whole mechanism out.

Connecting the hose to the sprayer

The next stage is the most simple and it involves connecting the hose to the sprayer. Make sure it’s properly tightened and secure and then you’re ready to go.

Filling up the gun with paint

First insert the hose into the can of paint. Turn the valve into the priming position and use the regulator on the side to fill up the hose with paint. Then, you can turn the valve into spray mode. Once the pressure has built up, you’re reading for spraying.

Protect the surrounding areas

Before you start spraying, you should lay down a drop cloth around the areas beneath the fence. This will help to protect the area from paint splatters while you’re spraying the fence.

Painting the fence

For the best results, use three coats of paint to ensure ultimate coverage. Spraying with a paint sprayer is much easier and faster and provides more professional results when compared to a paint brush or roller.

With the help of Graco and Dulux, spray painting your fence has never been easier.
